1.What is geography?
ما هى الجغرافيا ؟
Geography is the study of the world, how it works, and how people use and change the world as they live in it. The word geography
comes from the Greek words as follows:
Geo means (earth)
graph means (writing)
الجغرافيا هي علم دراسة الأرض وتأثيره عليها وكيف يغير الناس ويستخدمو العالم أثناء
حياتهم عليه. أصل كلمة جغرافيا من أصل يوناني. و تنقسم إلى:
(Geo) تعنى الأرض
(graph) تعنى كتابه او وصف
2.The Five Themes of Geography:-
خمس موضوعات عن الجغرافيا:-
1-PLACE:- (المكان)
When a geographer says "place“ he or she is talking about physical and human characteristics. Physical characteristics are the shapes of landforms and bodies of water, climate, soil, andplant and animal life.
عندما يقول الجغرافي كلمة مكان فأنه يتحدث عن المميزات أو الخصائص الطبيعية والبشرية و الخصائص الطبيعية هي أشكال السطح والكتل المائية والمناخ والتربة والنباتات الاحياء والحيوانية والمائية.
2- LOCATION:- ( الموقع )
When you study location, you study how physical. characteristics affect human settlement and the. ways in which places are used.
عند دراسة الموقع فإنك تدرس كيف تؤثر الخصائص الطبيعية في التجمعات البشرية وكيف يتم أستخدام واستغلال هذه الأماكن.
3-HUMAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL INTERACTION:- ( الإنسان و التفاعل البيئى)
It is talking about the changes people have made and continued to make in their environment.
هي التغيرات التي يفعلها الناس ويستمرو بفعلها في بيئتهم.
4- HUMAN MOVEMENT:- (التحركات البشري- الهجره)
A geographer who studies human movement follows the routes people take when they move from one place to another.
دراسة التحركات البشرية والطرق التي يتخذوها عند التنقل من مكان لآخر
5- REGIONS:- (الأقاليم )
A geographer thinking about regions looks at what makes one area different from another.
عند معرفة الجغرافي أي أقليم يبحث عن سبب أختلافه عن الأقاليم الأخرى
3.Fields Of Geography:-
فروع علم الجغرافيا:-
1) Agricultural geography: the study of farming in different parts of the world.
١- الجغرافيا الزراعية: هو دراسة الزراعة في مناطق مختلفة من العالم
2) Biogeography: the study of plants and animals in different geographic locations and climates.
٢- الجغرافيا الحيوية: تدرس النباتات والحيوانات في مناخات ومناطق مختلفة من العالم
3) Cartography: the science of making maps.
٣- علم الخرائط: وهو علم صناعة الخرائط.
4) Climatology: the study of world climates.
٤- علم المناخ: يدرس مناخ العالم
5) Cultural geography: the study of people and their ways of life in different parts of the world.
٥- الجغرافيا الحضارية: يدرس الناس والطرق المختلفة لانماط الحياة في مناطق مختلفة من العالم
6) Geomorphology: the study and measurement of landforms on the earth's surface and under water.
٦- الجيومورفولوجيا: العلم الذي يدرس قياسات سطح الارض علي السطح وتحت الماء.
7) Historical geography: the study of how geography affected historical events.
٧- الجغرافيا التاريخية: تدرس كيف أن الجغرافيا تؤثر أو تتأثر بالأحداث التاريخية.
8) Industrial and marketing geography: the study of locations for businesses and factories and how particular locations can benefit or hurt them.
٨- جغرافيا الصناعة والتسويق: تدرس المواقع التجارية والصناعية وكيف أن بعض المواقع تؤثر و تتأثر
9) Meteorology: the study of daily weather, including air temperature, precipitation (rainfall, snowfall) and winds.
٩- علم الأرصاد الجوية: يدرس الطقس اليومي ويضم درجة الحرارة والتساقط (مطر- ثلوج) والرياح.
10) Political geography: the study of nations and states, including the natural habitats, cities, farms, and populations within them.
١٠- الجغرافيا السياسية: هو دراسة الدول والولايات والتجمعات السكانية الصغيرة والسكان.
11) Resource geography: the study of the location of natural resources and the conservation of those resources to meet human needs.
١١- جغرافيا الموارد: هو دراسة الموارد الطبيعية وتحويل هذه الموارد للاحتياجات البشرية
12) Urban geography: the study of how cities develop and work.
١٢- جغرافيا المدن : تدرس كيف تنمو وتتطور المدن.
